Yoga Certification Costa Rica: Become a certified instructor!
Are you looking for a career change? We know modern life leaves much to be desired in terms of balancing work and recreation and getting enough sleep while not being overly consumed with technology. Fortunately, yoga training in Costa Rica offers a chance to break from the humdrum life you've been living in. Here in the tropical climate near the rainforest and the mountainous backdrops, it's fun to learn the Hindu tradition of yoga and change your worldview. In favorite spots like Playa Conchal or in the Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, you could focus on the wellbeing of your mind, body, and spirit, and learn to influence others through the yogi's way of life.
We love to trace the story of yoga’s introduction to the Western world back to the 1970s with the arrival of Sri K. Pattabi Jois. He was forward-thinking, bringing his training and different way of life from India to a whole new audience. In retrospect, we could argue that he changed many lives. Now, there are hundreds of thousands of yogis practicing their craft around the world. Here is a brief description of two basic styles of you may encounter in a professional training program:
Ashtanga
Before you set out to learn the principles of yoga training, please recognize that it is not a glamorous exercise class as portrayed in some current movies and TV programs. While busy professionals do hit the gym for sessions, they also learn about the Hindu tradition and how to adjust their modern mindset. Yoga teaches improving the mind, body, and spirit. There are tools to apply in all parts of your daily life. Sometimes, students adopt these tools only during their time with their yogi. Other students bring this mindset into play while enjoying other activities and nurturing other social relationships. As a structured style, Ashtanga involves a series of poses. Each of these asanas must become second nature before you, the future teacher, attempt the next series of poses. Jois kept teaching this style until his death in 2009. His teachings were influential in merging the needs of Western cultures with ancient Eastern traditions. The result was the emergence of modernized styles that gained widespread popularity, especially in the U.S. Learn more about Jois by searching for information about his center in Mysore, India. In Ashtanga Vinyasa style workouts, participants develop greater strength and range of motion, but the order of these exercises is very important.
Hatha
As an instructor, you are at the same time a lifetime student of improving your connection with the energies of the universe. We help you learn in this training program to recognize signals from your body, which date back to ancient times and then seek insights by calming your mind. After you complete the program, you will have the insights to also teach others these same skills. Some people think that yoga is strenuous, and they like the Ashtanga style. Others are looking for something calmer. They might like this style. Hatha includes poses, and there is an emphasis on the force, as a factor in moving and posturing the body. It is a good option for beginners. They will feel more relaxed when they complete the session, but they may not work up a sweat from the effort. In Hatha, you will lengthen your spine, improve your posture, and send healing breaths to different parts of the body. Much natural healing can occur after only one session. If you are more drawn to high-intensity workouts, you might prefer the Ashtanga style.
Why Try a Certification Program
We often get asked why people would enroll in a YTT like the ones presented if there are so many people already out there certified in our discipline. Everything about a new learning program concerns how it opens doors to new ways of thinking. Some yogis will turn their learning into a full-time profession. Others will want to increase their working knowledge or hold yoga classes on a part-time basis. At each session, you will go in feeling positive that you’re helping others to relax and to be well. You will come out feeling like you can change lives. It’s about empowering people to help themselves with these ancient techniques. As a future yogi, learn from the Hindu tradition and evolve your mind, body, and soul to new levels of consciousness. When your students finish their time with you, they may feel very connected to you and your positive energies. They will exert their own positive influences on the world as they leave and interact with others. Everyone can learn to treat their bodies better and connect with the Earth for greater healing and contentment.
How to Select the Best YTT
Before spending your resources on a certification program and becoming an instructor, it’s important to discover more about the learning format. A typical 200 hour or 300 hour course will include some traditional or self-paced learning of concepts and contact hours with other instructors and students. You will want to find a yoga school that makes you feel comfortable. You will want to feel supported even if most of the learning experience occurs in the virtual setting. Some yogi training programs allow you greater flexibility in doing the coursework over a period of time. They also let you customize the courses to fit your needs. We offer educational programs that will begin at different points in the year and give students at least twelve months to complete their coursework. The goal is to expose yourself to different types of yoga schools and then adopt the discipline that fits your personality. Hopefully, you’ll get to meet visiting yogis from other parts of the world, whether they are from the East or the West. If you get the opportunity, travel and learn about Hindu traditions from teachers in India.
